Close to 5000 people protested for Gaza on October 21. Activists believe it was the largest ever pro-Palestine rally in the city.
Speakers highlighted the critical and desperate situation in the Gaza Strip as Israel's unrelenting bombing campaign (including bombing hospitals and mosques) continues.
However there was a strong sense of optimism in such a powerful gathering.
"The oppressed have a right to resist and exist," Palestinian activist Asmaa told the crowd.
"This is genocide! Every voice of conscience needs to raise awareness however they can and demand an end to this now."
"I want you to know, you have so much power, you can stop this genocide," she said.
The crowd chanted "ceasefire", sending a clear message to Labor it must change from refusing to pressure Israel to stop its bombing campaign.
An estimated 30,000 people demanded an end to Israel’s genocidal attack on Gaza at the enormous protest in Gadi/Sydney.
At least 20,000 rally for Palestine in Naarm/Melbourne on October 22 demanding an end to Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.
People rallied in other cities around the country, including more than 2000 in Boorloo/Perth and more than 500 in Muloobinba/Newcastle.
