Why

The Burra Film Group is proud to present a special screening of "Where Olive Trees Weep". This multi-award-winning documentary filmed in 2022 in the West Bank follows Palestinian journalist Ashira Darwish, activist Ahed Tamimi, and Israeli journalist Amira Hass, while also documenting Dr. Gabor Maté’s work with Palestinian women, helping them process trauma from their torture in Israeli prisons.

It is a powerful and eye-opening look at the ongoing struggles of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation, but it’s also about resilience, hope, and the universal human spirit. The impact of this film goes beyond Palestine—it challenges us to think critically about justice, human rights, and the kind of world we want to live in. Reserve your free tickets here.
