Kumarangk 'Karaoke and Kake'

ADELAIDE — Once upon a time, a large number of people who spoke out against a proposed bridge to Kumarangk (Hindmarsh Island) were sued by the developers of a marina on the island. Defamation Magic turned them into “Defendants” overnight! But the magic was slow acting.

Years later, the Defendants were still looking for the Fairy Godbarristers who might transform them back into ordinary human beings with ordinary lives. Where could they turn?

The Kumarangk Legal Defence Fund (Inc.) magically appeared, shimmering and sparkling with moral, financial and legal support. But even then, the Defendants and their friends still felt afraid.

The growing size of their legal bills, the agonisingly slow approach of trial dates and the Dragons of Court had them calling on their Fairy Godmothers... Something had to be done to lighten the mood and replenish the not-so-magic purse.

The rare yet wonderful karaoke spell worked a treat last time, so they decided to try it again.

The Kumarangk Legal Defence Fund Karaoke and Kake Night is being held on Saturday, July 29, 7.30pm, at the Unley Citizens' Centre, 18 Arthur St, Unley. The venue is wheelchair accessible. Tickets are $5 concession/$10 part-time workers/$15 full-time workers/children by gold coin donation. There is limited seating, so book early by calling Shelby on 8376 5375.

Choose from 700 karaoke songs. There will be a bar, raffles, games (bring coins), coffee, tea and cake for sale. And no speeches. Vegans catered for.
