Why

The bombings continue to destroy residential buildings, schools and hospitals. the blockade is tightening and the slaughter of Palestinians is escalating.

The global Palestine solidarity movement must continue to stand with Palestine, now more than ever.

We have mobilised in our tens of thousands every week for almost three months to protest Israel’s war on Gaza.

Over 20,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel in less than three months. Hospitals and schools have been destroyed and entire cities have been bombed to rubble. Palestinians have no where to run, and no where to hide as Israel besieges them by land and air. They are blockaded, bombed and starved. Make no mistake, this is a genocide.

We must continue to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Whenever we feel tired or overwhelmed, we should remember the words of Nowar Diab, a university student living in Occupied Gaza:

“There is one thing that has recently given me hope in the face of the tragedy that has become our lives here in Gaza. It is the pictures of hundreds of thousands of people standing up for us and protesting in our name.”

We need to take march for Palestine and demand a REAL end to the bombing; a full withdrawal of Israel troops from Gaza, lift the siege, stop colonising the West Bank, release all Palestinian political prisoners now. We also call on the Australian government to cut ties with Apartheid Israel.

We remind everyone that the struggle for a free Palestine is an anti-racist struggle. We condemn and oppose all forms of racism, including antisemitism and Islamophobia.

Ours is a struggle against the state of Israel, not against Jewish people, many of whom oppose Zionism, and who have a long history of being part of our movement for a free Palestine.
Anyone wishing to express anti-semitic views is not welcome at our protests.

Check out International Big Ride for Gaza: Naarm which happens before this rally.
