Israel has broken the ceasefire, launching a massive assault on Gaza and killing more than 400 Palestinians, including at least 100 children, and wounding hundreds more.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said these strikes were “just the beginning” and Israeli defence minister Israel Katz said “the gates of hell will open in Gaza”.
The White House confirmed that the Donald Trump administration had given the go ahead for the attacks.
Israel had blocked aid from entering Gaza for two weeks prior to the strikes, and has continued to kill Palestinians in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank throughout the ceasefire.
Despite this, Labor refuses to cut ties with the genocidal, apartheid regime. Foreign minister Penny Wong’s statement calling for “civilians to be protected” means little when Australia continues to provide weapons, financial and political support to Israel.
Snap protests have been called across the country in response to Israel’s latest attacks. Join them and demand Labor cut ties with Israel.
