Bill will be laughing out of the other side
Why does the jacket of Chris Kelly's new book of cartoons carry a comment from newly elected US President Bill Clinton? Probably because Chris didn't ask for one from the queen.
Of course, what Clinton appreciated about Chris Kelly's work was the send-ups of George Bush. Green Left readers appreciate the send-ups of Bush, the queen, Bob Hawke, Paul Keating, John Hewson, Kerry Packer and others too numerous to mention. Bill Clinton, now that he has his finger on the trigger of the New World Order, might also attract Chris' notice from time to time.
The book, euphoniously titled Is that a Banana Republic or are you just not pleased to see me?, contains 118 cartoons produced over the last year and a half. Guaranteed to make you howl with laughter.
It's available from fearless booksellers everywhere. If there are only cowardly booksellers in your neighbourhood, you can order Is that a Banana Republic or are you just not pleased to see me? by post.
