Coalition nuclear power plan

While the federal Coalition has gone silent about its plan to build seven nuclear power plants, the Liberals Against Nuclear is pushing to ditch it before the election. Jim Green reports.

Friends of the Earth Australia has slammed Opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s release of the Coalition nuclear policy, describing it as a “nuclear nightmare” and a “cynical ploy to keep burning coal and gas”.

Renfrey Clarke writes that some of Peter Dutton’s nuclear power plan “facts” are comedic — in a very dark kind of way. But the Coalition’s endorsement of nuclear will have a deadening effect on investment in renewables.
