Socialist Alliance member and Merri-bek Councillor Sue Bolton addressed an snap rally on August 1 against Israel’s attempts to escalate the genocide into a regional war.
The rally was called in response to an outbreak of violent attacks in the region, carried out by the Israeli state, including: bombing Yemen; launching an airstrike on the Lebanese capital city, Beirut; killing children in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights; and the assassination of the leaders of resistance movements, including Ismail Haniyeh, who was a leader of Hamas.
