For the 12th weekend in a row, thousands marched through the streets of Gadi/Sydney on December 30 in solidarity with the Palestinian people demanding an end to Israel's ongoing genocidal war on Gaza.

The mass protest called on the Australian government to end its complicity with Israel's brutal carpet bombing, massacre of civilians and attempted ethnic cleansing in Gaza. It also called on the Anthony Albanese Labor government to cut ties with apartheid Israel.

The rally and march was organised by the Palestine Action Group Sydney.

Jepke Goudsmit, an activist with Jews Against the Occupation, told Green Left that the group had been at all 12 major rallies.

"All kinds of people come up to us when they read our banner, saying how much it means to them to see that not all Jews are Zionists.

"We have great discussions about how the Zionists have hijacked Judaism.

"The members of JAO48 are against Israel's apartheid regime, and want a complete stop to the genocidal settler colonial project called Zionism.

"We have also discussed the utter betrayal by the United States and other Western countries, including Australia, which allow this genocide of the people of Gaza to happen and who give Israel carte blanche, parrot their lies, and let them get away with impunity.

"Then we shake hands in solidarity, pledge our brother and sisterhood, and march together working towards justice and peace for all."
