One of Hobart's most vocal feminist activists is Kath Gelber. Kath has been involved with women's groups both on and off campus. She is also a member of the Democratic Socialist Party and Resistance.

"For me, being a feminist means getting involved in the struggle for the liberation of women, in solidarity with other women and with other struggles.

"The fundamental causes of women's oppression are rooted in the same social and economic system that creates racism and other forms of exploitation, so drawing the links and making alliances is absolutely crucial in the struggle for social justice and social change." Photograph by Tom Flanagan.
