A vigil was organised on August 3 for Alana Garlett, a mother of six, who died on the corner of Hay and William Streets on a freezing night last month.
Fifty six sleeping bags were laid on WA Parliament steps to symbolise the number of homeless people who died on the streets last year.
First Nations elders asked why this is allowed to happen in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Thay said it must be the last death on the streets and said her family need justice.
Meanwhile, the Labor government announced it will spend $7 million on a viewing platform for Optus stadium.
