Labor Senator Fatima Payman spoke out against genocide at a Friends of Palestine WA rally on June 8.
“This is a genocide and we have to stop pretending otherwise,” she said.
Australia was on the “wrong side of history” in 2003 during the United States–led invasion of Iraq in which more than 1 million people were killed.
“Today the world watches the genocide of the Palestinian people and, as the looming possibility of wider regional conflict grows, Australia must ensure it does not end up on the wrong side of history again,” Payman said.
