Some 2000 activists from a variety of campaigns came together in a rally in Sydney on December 10, International Human Rights Day.
Organised by FIRE (Fighting in Resistance Equally), the protest called for an end to Aboriginal children being forcibly removed from their families, an end to Aboriginal deaths in custody, for Dylan Vollar to be released from detention and it for refugees to be welcomed.
It also took a stand against the new anti-union laws and for workers' rights and for an end to environmentally destructive projects such as coal and coal seam gas mining.
